Obverse description Right-facing pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust rendered in the late Roman tradition, depicting the emperor Majorian as a posthumous type appropriated by Germanic issuers. The effigy is encircled by a peripheral legend occupying the full border of the flan. The portrait style reflects the debased engraving characteristic of post-imperial Germanic imitative coinage, with simplified facial features and schematic drapery. The diadem is composed of a row of pearls, consistent with late antique imperial iconography.
