| Obverse description | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Anastasius I facing right, rendered in the late antique barbaric style characteristic of Gepid imitative coinage. The effigy is encircled by a Latin legend reading the imperial titulature, set within a beaded border. The execution reflects the hand of a provincial die-cutter working from an Eastern Roman prototype, with simplified facial features and schematic drapery folds. |
