| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field dominated by the large interlaced monogram of Theoderic, composed of the letters T, H, E, O, D, E, R, I, C arranged in a decorative cipher occupying most of the flan. A Latin cross surmounts the monogram at the top of the field. The entire device is encircled by a Latin legend reading INVICTA ROMA, rendered in the debased, partially retrograde lettering characteristic of Gepid imitative issues struck at Sirmium. The overall composition closely follows the reverse type of contemporary Ostrogothic quarter-siliquae. |
