Aanvullende informatie

Jersey's adoption of nickel brass for this small-denomination issue reflected postwar metal economics across British Crown Dependencies, where cupronickel and nickel brass displaced bronze throughout the 1950s. The 1st portrait of Elizabeth II used here — Gillick's effigy — was already being phased out on UK coinage by the early 1960s, making this short four-year run a transitional type in the island's decimal-adjacent shilling system.
