Popis líce	Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, modelled by Percy Metcalfe, occupies the centre of the field. The king wears the Tudor Crown, rendered in fine relief. The surrounding legend reads GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR, arranged clockwise around the periphery, with the word EMPEROR appearing inverted at the base. The design is framed by a continuous beaded border.

Popis rubu	The central device, designed by George Kruger Gray, comprises a heraldic composition of three emblems arranged beneath an imperial crown: a Tudor rose to the left, a fleur-de-lis at the base, and a stylised sun or star flower to the right. Two small six-pointed stars flank the crown at the upper field. The surrounding legend reads MAURITIUS QUARTER RUPEE 1946, with the denomination separated by raised dots and the issuer name arching across the top. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border.
