Descrizione del dritto	Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, wearing the Imperial State Crown, engraved by Percy Metcalfe with the initials 'PM' visible below the truncation. The legend GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR runs continuously around the periphery in raised Latin letters, bounded by an inner beaded border. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown's arches, crosses, and fleurs-de-lis.

Descrizione del rovescio	Central device composed of three heraldic floral emblems arranged around a centrally placed Imperial Crown: a Tudor rose to the left, a stylised lotus or aster flower to the right, and a fleur-de-lis below, the latter bearing the engraver's initials 'KG' at its base. The circular legend MAURITIUS, flanked by six-pointed stars, arcs across the upper field, while QUARTER RUPEE 1938, separated by raised dots, curves along the lower field. The whole is enclosed within a dentilated border.
