Central device composed of three heraldic floral emblems arranged around a centrally placed Imperial Crown: a Tudor rose to the left, a stylised lotus or aster flower to the right, and a fleur-de-lis below, the latter bearing the engraver's initials 'KG' at its base. The circular legend MAURITIUS, flanked by six-pointed stars, arcs across the upper field, while QUARTER RUPEE 1938, separated by raised dots, curves along the lower field. The whole is enclosed within a dentilated border. |
