Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, engraved by Percy Metcalfe, occupying the central field. The king wears the Imperial State Crown and robes of state with ermine trim visible at the shoulder. The circumferential legend reads GEORGE V KING EMPEROR in raised Latin characters, distributed to the left and right of the effigy. The portrait is rendered in high relief with careful attention to facial detail and regalia. The toothed border encircles the entire design.
