Reverse description Central motif depicts a spread eagle, rendered in a style consistent with early Mexican republican state coinage, set within a radiate glory or sunburst emanating from behind the bird. The eagle occupies the central field with wings displayed. The peripheral legend records the mint initial, date, engraver's initials, and mint city, reading A DE . 1832 . L. S. HERMOSILLO., providing full attribution to the Hermosillo Mint and engraver Leonardo Santoyo. The overall composition follows the conventional format adopted by Sonoran provincial copper issues of the 1831–1836 series. Die work is characteristic of the limited technical resources of the provincial mint.
