Reverse description A large Gothic quatrefoil or four-lobed rosette design occupies the central field, with each lobe containing a smaller trefoil or petal motif, creating an ornate cross-like floral pattern. The quatrefoil is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with small annulets placed at intervals in the surrounding field. The circular Latin legend + IACOBUS : DEI : : GRA runs along the outer border, referencing the king's name and the Dei Gratia formula, typical of medieval Iberian coinage.
