| 正面描述 | Central field depicts a Gothic crowned royal monogram of the letter 'E' (for Enrique), surmounted by a crown with fleur-de-lis finials. The monogram is rendered in bold relief within a plain inner circle. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, partially visible on this irregular flan. The mint mark 'B' (for Seville) appears at the base of the inner field. |

Enrique II's early coinage reflects the chaos of his reign's opening years — he was still fighting his half-brother Pedro I for the Castilian throne when these pieces entered circulation, the civil war only concluding with Pedro's murder at Montiel in 1369. Billon issues of this period are frequently debased well beyond official standards, a direct consequence of Enrique's desperate need to fund his Trastámara campaign and pay his French mercenary allies under du Guesclin.
