| Obverse description | The Guatemalan national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a resplendent Quetzal bird perched atop a scroll inscribed 'LIBERTAD 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1821', flanked by crossed rifles and swords, and encircled by a laurel wreath. The circumferential legend 'REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA' arcs around the upper periphery, separated by raised dots at each terminus. The date appears in large numerals in the lower exergue. The design is rendered in bold, deeply struck relief consistent with the milled coinage tradition. |
