Obverse description Crowned effigy of the king facing left, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. A retrograde or abbreviated Latin legend in uncial characters encircles the portrait, itself framed by a second beaded ring along the outer rim. The bust is rendered in the angular, stylised manner typical of late 13th-century Norwegian hammered coinage.

Reverse description A lily cross occupies the central field, with a rosette ornament placed in each of the four quarters formed by the arms of the cross. The central motif is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, around which runs a Latin legend in uncial script, with a second beaded ring bordering the outer rim. The design reflects the devotional and heraldic conventions common to Scandinavian ecclesiastical coinage of the period.
