Obverse description Facing crowned royal effigy rendered in schematic style, the bust depicted frontally with a simple crown surmounting the head. The design is enclosed within an inner beaded ring, beyond which five larger pellet or annulet ornaments are distributed evenly around the periphery of the field. The overall execution is characteristic of the crude hammered bracteate coinage of medieval Norway, with shallow relief and irregular flan edges. No legible inscription is present on this denomination.
