| Obverse description | A patriarchal cross occupies the central field, with a pellet (dot) placed within each of two diagonally opposite quarters formed by the arms of the cross. The design is contained within a raised double circle border, characteristic of Norwegian bracteate coinage of the late 12th century. The flan is irregular and thin, consistent with hammered bracteate production. The relief is low and the surfaces show the typical texture of hand-struck medieval silver. No legend or inscription is present. |
