| Opis awersu | Central field dominated by a bold double-barred cross with splayed arms, executed in low relief characteristic of medieval Norwegian hammered coinage. A crescent or arc motif appears to the upper left of the cross, partially encircling it. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border of large raised pellets circumscribing the irregular flan. No legend is present; the design is purely symbolic in the Romanesque tradition of late 12th-century Scandinavian pennings. |
