| Obverse description | Central field displays a stylized elephant or mythical beast rendered in the characteristic Mysorean hammered style, set within a circular border. Above the central device, the Mauludi regnal year is inscribed in Arabic numerals, reading ١٢١٦ (1216), along with the letters AM denoting the Ahmadi Mauludi era introduced by Tipu Sultan. The design is enclosed within a raised inner circle, and the overall surface shows the bold but irregular strike typical of hammered copper coinage of the Mysore sultanate. |
