| 正面描述 | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the facial features and short hair. The portrait is of a mature, authoritative style consistent with official Pahlavi-era coinage. Surrounding the effigy, a curved Arabic-script legend arcs across the upper field and descends along the left, reading the full royal titulature. The field is otherwise plain, with a bold reeded border framing the entire design. |

Pattern coins of the Pahlavi regime were produced at various points to test proposed design changes or compositional shifts, often never advancing to circulation approval. A bronze quarter Pahlavi is a particularly anomalous piece — the circulating series used gold, and a base-metal pattern in this denomination suggests either a proposed wartime substitution or an internal mint trial that went nowhere. The Tehran mint kept minimal documentation on rejected patterns, which makes attribution to a specific year within the 1941–1979 range largely impossible without die analysis.
