| 裏面の説明 | Central crowned shield bearing four vertical pales (pallets), the heraldic arms of Aragon, struck in the hammered style characteristic of medieval Catalan coinage. The shield is surmounted by an open crown and occupies the central field. A Latin legend identifying the king's titles runs continuously around the shield, contained between inner and outer beaded circles. |

The Pacifico series was struck under the terms of the Capitulation of Pedralbes, through which John II of Aragon ended a decade-long civil war against Catalonia in 1472 by granting the Principality generous coinage rights. Barcelona's mint produced these fractional gold pieces as part of a broader monetary settlement designed to restore commercial confidence after years of economic disruption caused by the conflict.
The quarter denomination was the smallest gold fraction in the series — thin, fragile, and rarely preserved with full planchet.
