Obverse description At centre, a quartered shield of the royal arms of England and France ancient, set within an elaborate cusped tressure with lis at each cusp and a scallop shell at the apex, all contained within an inner beaded circle. The shield displays the quartered arms of France Ancient (fleurs-de-lis) and England (lions passant guardant). A Latin legend surrounds the design within the outer border.

Reverse description A floriated cross with a pellet at the centre occupies the field, with leopards passant guardant (lions) placed in each of the four angles formed by the cross. The entire composition is set within a cusped tressure enclosed by an inner beaded circle. A Latin devotional legend surrounds the design, characteristic of the English noble coinage of the late fourteenth century.
