| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted with curled hair, wearing the George IV State Diadem, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace, after the portrait by Raphael Maklouf. The legend ELIZABETH II runs along the left field, while ISLE OF MAN and the date 1996 appear along the right field, separated by a dot. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

The Isle of Man's Noble series, launched in 1983, was one of the earliest bullion programs to issue platinum as a standard denomination alongside gold and silver — predating the American Platinum Eagle by over a decade. The quarter-Noble fraction in platinum was aimed squarely at investors seeking smaller-denomination entry points into the metal, at a time when platinum routinely traded above gold.
The "Longboat" reverse design was updated periodically across the Noble series, giving date specialists genuine reason to distinguish annual issues rather than treating them as interchangeable bullion.
