Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features an elaborate floral rosette motif rendered in the Persian style, with stylized petals radiating outward from a central calligraphic inscription. The Arabic legend is intricately worked into and around the floral design, incorporating the invocation 'Ya Karim' (O Generous One) along with the mint name Yazd and the regnal year. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Zand-period gold coinage. The relief is bold and well-struck, with the floral arabesque dominating the composition in a manner typical of eighteenth-century Iranian hammered gold issues.

Aanvullende informatie

Karim Khan Zand never took the title of Shah, ruling instead as Vakil al-Ra'aya — regent of the subjects — a deliberate political choice that distinguished his administration from the Safavid tradition he nominally upheld. The Yazd mint was among the most active under his rule, a reflection of the city's commercial importance as a textile and trade center on the central plateau caravan routes. Type C of this denomination marks a later phase of his coinage, with die characteristics that differentiate it from earlier emissions of the same reign.
