| Obverse description | Central field dominated by bold hammered Arabic calligraphic inscription arranged within an informal cartouche-like layout, reading 'Ya Karim' (O Generous One, an invocation) above the mint formula 'Zarb Dar al-Saltana Qazvin' (Struck at the Seat of Power, Qazvin). The script is rendered in a flowing Nasta'liq-influenced style characteristic of Zand-period gold coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border of fine pellets encircling the rounded flan. |
