| Reverse description | The reverse field is filled with a multi-line Persian verse in elegant Nasta'liq script, reading: 'The sun and moon of gold and silver shone throughout the world from the coin of the Imam, rightfully the Lord of the Age (Sahib al-Zaman).' The inscription is arranged in sweeping diagonal bands across the coin's surface, a hallmark of Zand dynasty gold coinage style. Decorative rosette or dot motifs punctuate the spaces between the lines of text. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded border consistent with hammered coinage of this period. |
