| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a dense, multi-line Arabic religious legend executed in bold nastaʿlīq calligraphy, the strokes interspersed with raised pellet ornaments that serve as decorative punctuation. The inscription is contained within a scalloped or lobed cartouche, itself surrounded by a plain linear border. The irregular flan, typical of hand-struck Zand-period gold, shows the characteristic high-relief striking with flat, unadorned peripheral areas. The overall design reflects the purely epigraphic tradition of late Zand coinage, with no figural or geometric elements beyond the calligraphic field. |
