| Reverse description | Central field dominated by a prominent depiction of a tall trident (trishula), the sacred emblem of the god Shiva, rendered in bold raised relief and occupying the full height of the design. Flanking Devanagari inscriptions in multiple registers invoke the names of the two principal Hindu deities venerated in Nepal: Gorakhnath and Pashupati. The composition is framed by a plain linear inner border and a beaded outer border running along the coin's rim. The design reflects the deeply theocratic character of Shah-dynasty Nepalese coinage, combining Shaivite religious symbolism with devotional lettering in the established tradition of the Kathmandu Mint. |
