Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic legend in bold nasta'liq script, occupying the full field of the irregular hammered flan. The inscription records the mint name Yazd and the regnal year 967 AH (1560 CE), arranged in two or three registers. The mint name appears as 'یزد' and the date numerals are struck prominently in the upper portion of the field. The execution is typical of provincial Safavid gold coinage, with letters closely packed to fill the available flan and the irregular edge characteristic of hand-hammered production.
