Reverse description The reverse carries the royal inscription in bold raised Arabic naskh script, distributed across the field of the irregularly shaped flan. The legend names the ruling Shah Tahmasp I alongside the mint name Tabriz (تبریز) and the AH regnal date 957. The script is deeply struck and characteristic of Safavid hammered gold issues, with the mint name and date occupying the lower portion of the field.
