Obverse description Central field occupied by the Shi'a Kalima in bold naskh/nasta'liq Arabic calligraphy, arranged in two horizontal registers divided by a ruled line. The upper register bears the Shahada declaration of faith, while the lower register includes the name of Ali as the wali of God. The legends fill the flan to the edges, characteristic of Safavid hammered gold coinage, with the irregular planchet producing uneven margins around the inscribed field.

Reverse description Royal inscription in bold Arabic naskh/nasta'liq calligraphy occupying the central field, divided by a horizontal ruled line into two registers. The upper register contains the royal titulature naming Shah Tahmasp I, while the lower register records the mint name Sabzawar and the AH regnal date 962. The inscription fills the irregular flan to the margins, consistent with Safavid Fourth Gold Standard hammered quarter-mithqal coinage.
