| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the Shia Kalima profession of faith, rendered in flowing Nasta'liq script arranged in multiple registers across the flan. The Arabic-Persian religious legend is disposed within a panelled framework typical of Safavid hammered gold coinage. The script is deeply struck, with characteristic ligatures and diacritical marks of the period. The irregular flan edges reflect the hand-struck hammered technique standard for this denomination and reign. |
