| Opis rewersu | The reverse bears multi-line Arabic calligraphic inscriptions in nasta'liq style filling the entire field, recording the royal titles and name of Shah Tahmasb I together with the mint name Isfahan (Isfahān) and, where legible, a partial regnal reference. The lettering is struck in bold raised relief, with characteristic Safavid interlocking strokes spreading across the hammered flan. The mint name and ruler's titulature are distributed across the field without a formal frame or border, consistent with standard Safavid hammered gold coinage practice. Some peripheral legend is lost to the irregular flan edge. The overall execution reflects the fluid, cursive calligraphic tradition employed at the Isfahan mint during the reign of Tahmasb I. |
