Obverse description Central field bears the tughra of Sultan Abdülmecid I accompanied by a floral sprig at right, all rendered in elegant Ottoman calligraphy. The inscription is contained within a plain inner border and surrounded by a rope or cable border encircling the entire coin. Weight of individual specimens varies between 0.38 and 0.40 grams.
