Obverse description Central field displays a double-headed imperial eagle with wings displayed, rendered in the German Renaissance hammered style typical of mid-16th century Hanseatic coinage. The eagle's two heads face outward to left and right respectively, with detailed feathering across the spread wings and body. A circular beaded inner border frames the eagle device. The surrounding legend reads MONETA NOVA LVBICN with the date 1549, distributed around the periphery between the inner and outer borders.
