Obverse description Central field occupied by the Montfort coat of arms, depicting a shield charged with a stylized castle or tower device above three roundels arranged horizontally, the whole set within an ornate cartouche with foliate scrollwork. The legend ·O·C·V· appears in the upper portion of the field, flanking the shield, with the date divided as i7 to the left and 26 to the right of the shield's lower section. The coin's periphery is bordered by a fine beaded or milled rim.
