| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Utrecht combined with those of Burgundy, surmounted by a small cross pattée at the top of the shield. The quarters display alternating devices including fleurs-de-lis, a lion rampant, and diagonal banded arms, rendered in the late Gothic style typical of Burgundian ecclesiastical coinage. The shield is set within a plain inner circle. A Gothic uncial legend in the outer annulus reads: MONETA NOVA EPIS' TRAIECTENSIS, identifying the coin as a new episcopal money of Utrecht, interrupted by cross and pellet stops. |
