Beschrijving voorzijde Three heraldic shields arranged in a triangular formation within a beaded inner circle, with one shield positioned above dividing the date and two shields below, all displaying the arms of the Ernestinian line of Saxony. The surrounding Latin legend carries the titles of Johann Friedrich I, Elector of Saxony, running clockwise between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim. The die-struck lettering is characteristic of early sixteenth-century German hammered coinage, with Gothic-influenced letter forms. The field shows typical wear consistent with hand-struck production of the period.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central device depicting an ornate crested helmet surmounted by tall buffalo horns, rendered in the elaborate heraldic style typical of Saxon Renaissance coinage of the 1530s. The helmet is shown in three-quarter view with decorative mantling or lambrequins issuing from either side, filling the inner field. A beaded circle separates the central device from the surrounding peripheral legend, which carries the titles of Heinrich and Johann Ernst in Latin. The inscription runs clockwise around the outer band, with letter forms consistent with German hammered silver coinage of the period.
