The medallion is surrounded by a starburst or radiate border composed of alternating long and short rays, creating a decorative sunburst effect. A further outer border of Jawi script legend encircles the composition near the rim, and the date in Arabic-Malay numerals appears at the base. The overall design presents a deliberate bilingual approach intended to render the coin's value legible to the indigenous Malay-speaking population. |
