| Aversbeschreibung | Central field displays the Tyrolean eagle displayed, wings spread, facing front with head turned sinister, rendered in bold relief characteristic of 14th-century north Italian hammered coinage. The eagle, a heraldic symbol of the Prince-Bishopric of Trento, is contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters reads TRIDENTINVS, referencing Trento, and is separated from the inner circle by a plain border. The flan is irregular, typical of hand-struck medieval billon pieces of this period. |

| Reversbeschreibung | Frontal bust of the bishop Nicholas of Brno, depicted in pontifical vestments with a prominent mitre, rendered in a schematic yet expressive medieval style within a beaded inner circle. The bust is shown facing, with stylized facial features and a decorative collar or cope visible below the chin. The encircling legend in uncial Latin, separated from the inner circle by a plain border, identifies the issuer as Nicholas, Bishop. A floral ornament separates elements of the legend, consistent with north Italian numismatic practice of the mid-14th century. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Nicholas of Brno held the see of Trento from 1338 until his death in 1347, a period during which the prince-bishops were continually negotiating the competing pressures of Visconti expansion from Milan and Habsburg consolidation to the north. The quarter grosso was the practical workhorse denomination for small transactions in the Alpine trade corridors, and Trentine billon issues from this episcopate survive in very limited numbers — the alloy's low silver content made them expendable, not worth hoarding.
