Reverse description A plain cross is depicted at the center of a rhombus (lozenge-shaped frame), itself set within a beaded inner circle, creating a distinctive geometric composition characteristic of Savoyard quarter-groschen issues of this period. The cross arms extend to the inner edges of the rhombus. A continuous legend in uncial Latin letters encircles the design between the beaded inner ring and the outer toothed border, recording Amadeus IX's Italian marquisate titles. The flan is irregular and the strike is typical of mid-15th-century hammered silver coinage.
