| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by a fleur-de-lis, the principal charge of the French royal arms, rendered in Gothic style. The device is surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading KAROLVS FRANCORVM R, identifying Charles as king of the Franks.
