| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bird displayed with wings spread, walking to sinister, perched upon a large footed cross whose arms extend to divide the circular legend into four sections. The cross serves as the primary compositional element of the reverse, a common device on billon small change of the Low Countries during the fifteenth century. The bird motif is rendered in a schematic, stylised manner characteristic of hammered coinage of the period. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin identifies the issuing authority and mint. The flan edges are irregular, with slight weakness in the strike consistent with the coin's small module and billon composition. |
