Obverse description Central field displays a long cross with ornate fleurs-de-lis at each terminal, dividing the field into four quarters. A small shield bearing the rampant lion of Holland is superimposed at the centre of the cross. The quarters are decorated with alternating heraldic motifs typical of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumscribed Latin legend running between the inner and outer borders.
