| Reverse description | Central field features a floriated or voided cross with elaborate decorative terminals, surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The quarters of the cross contain small heraldic charges or ornamental pellets characteristic of Burgundian billon coinage of this period. The design is relatively flat and struck with the irregular flan typical of hammered low-denomination medieval coinage. The circumscribed Latin legend, proclaiming the new coinage of the County of Holland and Zeeland, runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim. |
