Obverse description Crowned draped bust of Philip III facing left, set within an inner beaded circle. The mint initial 'B' (for Barcelona) appears prominently in the right field beside the effigy. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner and outer beaded borders, invoking the king's title as ruler of the Spains by divine grace. The portrait is rendered in the crude but characteristic style of hammered coinage of the period.
