| Obverse description | Central field displays a lozenge (square set on its corner) formed by four rampant lions arranged in a cross pattern, their bodies radiating outward from the centre. The composition is enclosed within an inner beaded border, beyond which runs the circumferential legend. The design is executed in a bold, high-relief Gothic style typical of 14th-century Low Countries hammered coinage. |
