Reverse description A bold plain cross divides the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a small rampant lion, the heraldic emblem of Holland, rendered in the simplified style typical of hammered Low Countries small silver. An inner beaded circle frames the cross design. The peripheral Latin legend MO NOV HOL` ZEL identifies this as new coinage of Holland and Zeeland. The overall design follows the standard quatrefoil-lion-and-cross type established for Hollander groat fractions in the early fifteenth century.
