Reverse description Central field features a large Florentine lily (fleur-de-lis), the heraldic emblem of Florence, rendered in a bold, stylized form characteristic of late 16th-century Tuscan hammered coinage. The lily occupies the majority of the reverse field, its petals and stamens clearly articulated despite the small flan. A circular Latin legend DEI • VIRTVS • EST • NOBIS surrounds the central device, separated by pellets, translating as 'The virtue of God is ours.' The design is enclosed within a beaded border consistent with the obverse.
