(Translation: Louis XIV by the grace of God king of France and Navarre, lord of Bearn.)
Reverse description Quartered royal shield of arms surmounted by a closed royal crown, displaying in the first and fourth quarters the fleurs-de-lis of France and in the second and third quarters the arms of Bearn — a golden cow passant on a field of gules — separated by a cross. The crowned escutcheon is centrally positioned in the field. The date appears integrated within the circular Latin legend that runs around the periphery, with the pious motto SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM.
