Reverse description Central field occupied by a quartered shield of arms surmounted by a royal crown of France, combining the arms of France (three fleurs-de-lis on an azure field) in the dexter half and the arms of Navarre (a chain pattern or castle motif) in the sinister half, consistent with the Franco-Navarre dynastic union. The shield is rendered in bold hammered relief and is flanked by the date and mint mark. The surrounding legend GRATIA DEI SVM ID Q SVM encircles the shield between linear borders, with stops separating the words and the regnal year indicated at the close of the legend.
