背面描述	Central device displays the crowned royal arms of France — a shield semé of fleurs-de-lis — surmounted by an open royal crown with elaborate foliate decoration. To the left and right of the shield appear the denomination indicators (II and a mint mark respectively), serving as indicators of the quarter-ecu value. The surrounding circular legend, rendered in Latin, carries the biblical phrase SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM ('Blessed be the name of the Lord'), a traditional pious motto used on French royal silver coinage throughout the 16th and early 17th centuries. The die workmanship reflects the hammered technique standard for French provincial mints of the reign of Henri IV.
