| Obverse description | Central floriated cross with fleur-de-lis terminals and a cruciform heart finial at each arm, occupying the full field. The legend, in Latin, encircles the design reading HENRICVS•III•D•G•FRANC•ET•POL•REX followed by the date (millésime). A small dot appears beneath the letter E of the mint letter on the illustrated example, serving as a privy mark. The overall style is characteristic of late sixteenth-century French hammered silver coinage. |
